Donna Mac I AM!

In 2006, I embarked on a journey of making welding caps.  My father, a skilled Welder of 25 years with the Local Union 250 in Los Angeles, CA.  When he became ill and couldnt go back to work, he got very bored.  He purchased an old sewing machine that he picked up at a garage sale, and purchase some fabric.  This was the beginning of his new journey in sewing welding caps.  He pulled apart the welding caps he wore during his time as a welder, he made patterns out of cardboard boxes and started sewing.  I wasn’t very interested in what he was doing at the time, but it grew on me, I enjoyed spending time with my dad.  I belive this was the first time I could say we bonded.  I’ll cherish that time forever, because he is no longer here.  He passed away from Cancer (I miss him).  My dad taught me a skill that will allow me to earn money from home for as long as I am here.  Thank you Dad.  Those humble caps are my first brushstrokes on the canvas of my dreams.  I didn’t stop there, I have now expanded my horizons.  Diving into the world of custom items, from intricate embroidery patterns to personalized prints.  I’ve crafted pieces that resonate with individual stories.
